Upgraded Minor Injury Unit and Outpatient Areas
Patients visiting Stroud General Hospital will soon see an upgrade to facilities.

Work has now commenced on refurbishments to the examination rooms in the Minor Injury Unit, outpatient areas, and a refurbished waiting area which will have the added benefit of a children’s play area.

The works builds on recent work to the car park and the £1.8 million upgrade of the theatre suite in 2008. The work is again being supported by the League of Friends for Stroud Hospitals.

Kay Haughton, Matron at Stroud General Hospital, said:

“We aim to keep disruption to patients at a minimum during this time but where we may have to move clinics to different rooms we would ask patients to bear with us as the refurbishment will see improved facilities for everyone.”

The Stroud Minor Injury Unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and treats a variety of injuries and illnesses such as sprains, cuts and wounds, minor fractures and minor head injuries.

Upgraded Reception Area at Beeches Green Health Centre
The Friends have been working with NHS Gloucestershire to improve the Reception at Beeches Green Health Centre.

Publicity Officer Needed
The League of Friends have been working hard to support the fine health services provided by the Stroud Hospitals and in the community. We are looking for a volunteer with skills that would enable them to present the work we do to our supporters and the media.
