The Stroud Hospitals League of Friends
within
the local community.
The League of Friends were formed in 1948, but we have our roots in the voluntary
provision
of health services at the Stroud Hospitals in the century and a half before this.
Today we are
the channel for the community's generosity and care for our hospitals,
the health centre and
the ambulance station.
We work in partnership with staff and patients and strive to provide support in a wise and
caring
way.
We are known for our vigorous defence of valuable services that are threatened, but we also seek to support the intelligent development of services in co-operation with 'NHS Gloucestershire' and the '2gether NHS Foundation Trust'. This partnership ensures we always keep up with the latest medical advances.
We also provide support to patients and visitors at the hospital, offering refreshments, newspapers, friendly faces and a touch of festive cheer for those in hospital over the Christmas period.
